Netty's Juicery Attends The 2023 Urban League Holiday Small Biz Fest!
Wednesday, I hauled 2 gallons of fresh pressed juice and over 35 bottles of 16 oz juices to my parked car. I spent a few tiring hours in the kitchen the night before with my cousin "Twinkles" to prepare enough juice for the event. Adorned with a brand new Mac lipstick in some variety of red and boxes filled with an assortment of table display props, I sped to the Urban League Headquarters.
I was greeted by smiling faces who eagerly helped me unload my car and fill my wagon courtesy of Costco. I made my way to the second floor to set up my tabling display. I could feel the pitter patter of my heart as my nerves became slightly jittery. Although this was not my first small business fair, it was the first time I sold juice rather than simply sampling a flavor. I put on my bravest face and located my table to begin set up.
I love sunflowers. They represent vitality and vibrancy to me which is symbolic of health. I also love to add fresh produce to my table to emphasize how every juice is made fresh from real produce, with zero additives, sugars, or artificial anything! As the event began, I became acquainted with my fellow neighboring vendors. It's always refreshing to see other women in business who represent my identity. The business world can often feel marginalized and unfriendly. Seeing another fellow sister promoting her brand, and standing in her fullness will forever warm my heart!
The event was an outstanding success! I met countless beautiful souls who gladly patronized my business and gifted me with words of encouragement. I'm beyond thankful to the Urban League for hosting such an outstanding event and creating space for entrepreneurs to network, market, and cultivate community!
Until next time!
